SO WHERE DID THE NAME "BiciSport" COME FROM ?
The name and the "BS" logo have been drawn from the leading Italian cycle racing magazine of the same name ... the title simply means `bikesport` in Italian.
BiciSport was established in 1995 and has achieved strong growth every year since that time. Membership exceeds 75 members at the end of August 08, and continues to grow.
WOMENS ELITE TEAM BiciSport was originally formed on the basis of an outstanding women`s team. This team was sponsored firstly by the well known brand "Band Aids" and in later years by "Kool Mints". The womens team has featured in several national events such as the Bay Criterium Series in Melbourne and the Snowy Mountains Tour, where Emma James has won a stage.

Jays Austin sets the Masters (M2) World Hour Record with 48.317k
First Attempt - 2 February 08
What a gutsy attempt for Jays putting it all on the line. The record was 45.641k set by Jason Sprouse (USA), or put another way simply 181 laps around the Dunc Gray Velodrome in one hour. For the first 40 minutes of the attempt Jays looked pretty well ahead of the game. Jays rhythm looked controlled and measured until the 40 minute mark, but then the demons started & the lights started to slowly go out. What was `ahead of the record` at 40 minutes, started to slip away at 45 minutes, and at the 50 minute mark the record was safe in American hands.
Second Attempt - 26 April 09
The second attempt bore no relation to the first attempt in February 08. Jays set a constant & well rehearsed lap time, and by the 45 minute mark was comfortably ahead of the Jason Sprouse benchmark of 45.641k. Coached by Alex Simmons, Jays was able to set a time of 48.317k for the hour around the Dunc Gray Velodrome, in a truly awesome display of quality track cycling.

Alex has assisted with RAW Track (as the CycNSW Commissaire), and coached the BiciSport team to the Gold Medal at the Masters Team Time Trial Championships in August 08.
